Naomi is an incoming fourth-year journalism and political science student at Northwestern University, where she reports for The Daily Northwestern and contributes to the school’s nationally distributed alumni publication, Northwestern Magazine. Originally from the San Francisco Bay Area, Naomi is pursuing a career in political reporting and is currently interning at The Sacramento Bee.
For two summers, Naomi wrote for her local newspaper, the San Mateo Daily Journal. She reported on immigration and demographics for the Medill News Service through Northwestern’s Medill on the Hill program, and later covered state government for Capitol News Illinois as a Medill Statehouse Fellow. She currently volunteers as a fact-checker for the Pollen Initiative, supporting journalism by incarcerated writers at California’s largest women’s prison.
Her reporting has been republished by regional and national news organizations, including NPR Illinois, Sojourners, States Newsroom, The Fresno Bee and WTTW.
